....dress between seasons

The easiest way to think about transseasonal clothing and how to wear it is to dress for the sesaon you are about to enter. In autumn, despite the heat, start layering. Ditch the thongs and sandals in favour of a court shoe and switch to a heavier-looking bag. Conversely, in spring, when it can be very cool, loosen up the look by lightening your colour palette. Wearing black will keep the look heavy. Lose the poloneck sweater in favour of lots of light layers. Wear different textured garments - tank, sweater, jacket and make sure the jacket is structured so you don't look sloppy. Keep wearing your pencil skirt, but remove the opaque tights. The classic trench really comes into its own at the change of seasons. It can be thrown over everything to pull the look together. It also helps if it is waterproof.
