Hard bags can crack rendering them useless in just one outing. Too big and it will be hard to manage if it needs to be carried for any distance.
For the business traveller a good quality garment bag with a lots of internal compartments that is light and waterproof is indispensable. It is far easier to manage two smaller bags than one oversized piece of luggage.
